follow this one rule and avoid 99% of scam attempts on tamaircraft.com.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA WESTERN UNION, MONEYGRAM<\/strong>\u00a0or any other wire service &#8211; anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FAKE CASHIER CHECKS &amp; MONEY ORDERS ARE COMMON<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>BANKS WILL CASH THEM AND THEN HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE<\/strong>\u00a0when the fake is discovered weeks later.<\/p>\n<p>tamaircraft.com <strong>IS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TRANSACTION<\/strong>, and does not handle payments, guarantee transactions, provide escrow services, or offer &#8220;buyer protection&#8221; YOUR TRANSACTION<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who should I notify about fraud or scam attempts?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>U.S. Federal<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ic3.gov\/\">Internet Fraud Complaint Center<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/ftc.gov\/multimedia\/video\/scam-watch\/file-a-complaint.shtm\">FTC Video: How to report scams to the FTC<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov\/\">FTC online complaint form<\/a><\/li>\n<li>FTC toll free hotline: 877-FTC-HELP (877-382-4357)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/sentinel\/military\/index.shtml\">Consumer Sentinel\/Military (for reports from services members or their families)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.siia.net\/piracy\/report\/report.asp\">SIIA Software and Content Piracy reporting<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are defrauded by someone you met in person, contact your\u00a0<strong>local police<\/strong>\u00a0department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recognizing scams<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most scams involve one or more of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An inquiry from someone far away, often in another country.<\/li>\n<li>Western Union, Money Gram, cashier&#8217;s check, money order, shipping, escrow service, or a &#8220;guarantee&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Inability or refusal to meet face-to-face before consumating transaction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Examples of Scams<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Someone claims that tamaircraft.com<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>will guarantee a transaction, certify a buyer\/seller, OR claims that tamaircraft.com\u00a0will handle or provide protection for a payment.\n<ul>\n<li>These claims are fraudulent, as<strong> tamaircraft.com <\/strong>does not have any role in any transaction.<\/li>\n<li>Scammer will often send an official looking email that appears to come from tamaircraft.com, offering a guarantee, certifying a seller, providing payment services &#8212; all such emails are fakes!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Someone requests wire service payment via Western Union or MoneyGram:\n<ul>\n<li>The seller often claim that an MTCN or confirmation code is needed before he can withdraw your money &#8211; this is FALSE, once you&#8217;ve wired money, it is GONE.<\/li>\n<li>Common countries currently include: Nigeria, Romania, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, Netherlands &#8211; but could originate from anywhere.<\/li>\n<li>The deal often seems too good to be true, price is too low, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Distant person offers to send you a money order and then have you wire money:\n<ul>\n<li>This is ALWAYS a scam, in our experience &#8211; the cashier&#8217;s check is FAKE.<\/li>\n<li>Sometimes accompanies an offer of merchandise, sometimes not.<\/li>\n<li>Scammer often asks for your name, address, etc for printing on the fake check.<\/li>\n<li>Deal often seems too good to be true.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Distant seller suggests use of an online escrow service.\n<ul>\n<li>Most online escrow sites are FRAUDULENT, operated by scammers.<\/li>\n<li>For more info, do a google search on &#8220;fake escrow&#8221; or &#8220;escrow fraud&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Distant seller asks for a partial payment upfront, after which he will ship goods\n<ul>\n<li>The seller says he trusts you with the partial payment.<\/li>\n<li>The seller may say he has already shipped the goods.<\/li>\n<li>The deal often sounds too good to be true.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can sidestep would-be scammers by following these common-sense rules.
